1. What Luxfolio is

Luxfolio is an information service. We publish estimated market values ("marks") for luxury handbags, built from resale listings we observe, and we let you record the bags you own so those estimates can be applied to your collection.

Luxfolio does not buy, sell, broker, authenticate, appraise, insure or take custody of any item. We are not a marketplace and we are not a party to any transaction you enter into with anyone else.

2. What a mark is, and what it is not

A mark is a median asking price across listings we have observed for a specific configuration of a bag, at a stated condition, on a stated date. It is an estimate derived from what sellers are asking. It is not:

• an appraisal, valuation or certification of value;
• a transaction price, or a prediction of one;
• an offer to buy or sell at that price;
• a statement that any specific item is authentic or as described.

Marks assume an authentic item in the stated condition. We publish the number of listings behind every mark and the date it was computed so you can judge it for yourself. Where we have too few observations to be confident, we say so.

Do not rely on a mark for insurance, tax, probate, lending, litigation or any other purpose that requires a professional valuation. For those, engage a qualified appraiser.

3. No investment or financial advice

Nothing on Luxfolio is investment advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to acquire or dispose of anything. Handbags are consumer goods, not securities. Past changes in a mark do not indicate future changes. You are solely responsible for your own decisions.

4. Your account

You must be at least 16 to hold an account, and you agree to give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from Settings on the web or in the app; doing so removes your holdings, watchlist, posts and profile immediately.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you add — your holdings, cost basis, notes and profile. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store it, and to display it to the people you have chosen to share it with.

If you make a portfolio public, you are choosing to publish it. Do not add anything to a public portfolio you would not want read by a stranger.

6. What it costs

Luxfolio is free to use, with no limit on the number of bags you record. If we introduce a paid tier we will say so here first, and anything you are already using for free stays free unless we tell you otherwise and give you the chance to stop. Where a subscription is bought through an app store, that store's refund and cancellation policy governs it, not ours.

7. Third-party links

We link out to resale listings on third-party sites and may earn a commission when you follow one and buy. That commission does not change the mark, which is computed from observed asking prices before any commercial relationship is considered. Those sites are not ours; their terms and their accuracy are their own.

8. Trademarks

Brand and model names — Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and others — are the trademarks of their owners. We use them descriptively, to identify whose bags we are pricing. Luxfolio is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service. We try to give notice of material changes but cannot always do so.

10. Disclaimers and limits

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any decision you make in reliance on a mark. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Ending this agreement

You may stop using Luxfolio at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or is used unlawfully.
